Back to School Tablescape

Since our first day of school begins tomorrow, I decided to put together a little tablescape in honor of it.

It has been a beautiful summer, we've done so much & I've gotten so much done as well. But sadly, in my eyes, summer is now over.

I've had the placements for many years. The apple dishes are from Christmas Tree Shop. Green plates are Pfaltzgraff. Yellow dinner plates from the grocery store. Napkins from Pier 1. Flatware is Cambrige found at Home Goods. Glasses from Target.

I found the bus shaped chalk board at Joanns. The bag came from Dollar Tree.

Hey...wait a minute! Aren't I missing an apple from the above photo? I thought I had three.

This is what I found in the kitchen. Sheesh, stealing apples from the tablescape! My goodness, my children are sneaky! :D

I'll be linking this up at Susan's blog, Between Naps on the Porch, for her fabulous Tablescape Thursday. Also, I'm linking to Sherry's Open House Thursday, although Ann of On Sutton Place is graciously hosting this week. Have I confused you? :D

Thanks so much for visiting & for all the kind comments...you are the best!

Oh I just love this!! Okay, I have a question... where do you house all your different dishes and accessories that you use in your tablescapes??

It so weird to begin school any other day than monday...My daughter's first day was yesterday, tuesday... Anyway, at least your kids will have an extra short first week of school :-) Bet they're loving that. Good luck to them on their new school year. Oh, and loved your Back to School Tablescape.

Much love,
♥Ana

I think it encourages our kids when we do fun things like this for them. I love the pic of the filched apple, LOL!

My goodness, Gina...school didn't start until today?!??!?! I think the children around these parts started back around August 16th or so! This is a great way to kick off the school year for the kids! You did an awesome job! Now maybe they will take an apple to the teacher for credit! ;-) Have a great weekend!

That is so cute and definitely looks very back to schoolish. I am sure there are many teachers out there who would rather be sitting at your table too! LOL! Very sweet!

This is just adorable! I am headed to Joann's today (they just opened a new store VERY close to my home!)to see what treasures I can find! Back to school is always sad, but your happy table doesn't show it!
