A funny thing happened on the way to the forum...

...I was surfing the web, trying to find pretty photos of painted tables. You see my kitchen table, after 11 years, is beginning to show its age & I know that I,for one, don't like to show my age, so I'm quite sure my kitchen table feels the same.

As I searched, I found that I became sidetracked by different photos. What kind of photos you ask? Why those containing rooms decorated in blue & green, of course!

I never realized what a pretty color palette they created until tonight. Here's a look:

(All Photos BHG, My Home Ideas, Country Living)

Blue & green has completely enchanted me. Inquiring minds want to know...how do you feel about it? Any thoughts?

Oh and one last thing...guess what? I'm being featured over at Debbiedoos today! I'm very excited because I'm crazy about Debbie. She has such personality and keeps it real. Gotta love that, you know? Check it out here. I'm trying to contain my excitement but I really want to jump up & down in my seat! LOL

If you are visiting from Debbie's, I welcome you! I hope you enjoy your visit & that we become fast friends. Hope you have a wonderful sun-shine filled weekend!

Strawberry Cheesecake Pie

I made this Strawberry Cheesecake Pie over the weekend. It was fairly simple to make & it tasted sooo good. My brother-in-law loved it so much, he ate 3 slices!

This recipe will be great once the temps heat up because it requires no baking (other than the crust, if you choose to make your own).

Here is the recipe:

Strawberry Cheesecake Pie

from Icebox Pies by Lauren Chattman

2 tablespoons cold water
2 teaspoons unflavored gelatin
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
3/4 cup heavy cream
1 pint fresh strawberries, hulled
2/3 cup sugar
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
1 prepared crumb crust (I made a homemade graham cracker crust, but I would imagine you could use a store bought, ready made one)

Place the cold water in a small bowl & sprinkle gelatin on top. Let the gelatin stand to dissolve. In the workbowl of a food processor, combine the cream cheese, heavy cream, strawberries, sugar & vanilla and proccess the mixture until smooth.

Put 1 inch of water in a small saucepan & bring the pot to a bare simmer. Place the bowl containing the gelatin on top of the simmering water and heat, whisking constantly, just until the gelatin melts, 30 seconds to 1 minute. With the food processor running, pour the gelatin mixture through the feed tube into the strawberry mixtre and process to create a smooth puree.

Scrape the filling into the prepared pie shell. Cover the pie with plastic wrap and refrigerate it until the filling is completely set, at least 6 hours and up to 1 day.

Makes 1 (9 inch) pie; 6-8 servings

Now go ahead & enjoy!

Spring Break

We are on Spring Break this week...no work for me, no school for my kids...aahhh, I love it!

(Technically, Spring Break started at 2:48 pm on Friday. However, with softball practice, baseball practice, 2 soccer games Saturday, 2 soccer games Sunday, and an outpatient surgical procedure this morning, I did not feel as though we were given a break from anything. Phew!)

I can now officially declare that Spring Break has begun for us. Yeah!

My list of things to get done this week continues to grow. I'm planning to get some Spring cleaning done. I think I may have a garage sale in early May if I can get cleaned out this week. There's also lots of cooking & baking to do in order to prepare for Sunday.

However, I thought I would share some more of my Easter decor with you today.

I couldn't resist this glittery church when I saw it at Marshalls.

Some pastel colored eggs, along with a Bethany Lowe garland hanging from one of my shelves.

A fat bunny I bought last year at Pier 1.

My newest Dee Foust piece.

Looking at these pictures reminds me of something else I need to add to my list this week. I need to tell the Easter Bunny to get a jump start if he plans to deliver baskets to my kids Sunday morning. What has that Bunny been doing lately anyway? ;D

Hippity Hoppity Snowbunny

Easter is only 3 weeks away & I've been getting in gear adding lots of little Easter touches all throughout our home. Here is my coffee table, all spruced up for the holiday:

I put jellybeans under the glass pastry stand, same as I did last year. After all, it survived my son's never-ending curiosity to touch everything he sees, so I'm hoping it will still hold through this year. Yeah, I know, I'm tempting fate here.

I added this pretty blue hyacinth that I put together myself, because I just couldn't find anything floral that I liked.

And last, this little cutie:

My Dept. 56 Snowbunny, a gift from my mother-in-law many years ago. I like the way he looks perched in a Lenox teacup & saucer.

Thanks so much for visiting me today. I appreciate all your kind comments week after week. You are the best!

La Primavera Tablescape

In honor of all things Spring, I put together a little Spring tablescape, La Primavera.

I love tulips, especially red ones.

The butter dish above is a favorite from Anthropologie.

The napkin rings are from Kohls. I found them on clearance for 39 cents a piece! Red ric rac trimmed napkins are from Pier 1. The red flatware was an engagement gift many years ago.

I've had these dishes for about 20 years. I fell in love with them before I was married. My Mom & Dad bought the set for me back then.

The glasses, also about 20 years old, were given to me by my Dad. He was always getting "stuff" from work. I believe they were promotions given by companies they worked with.
