Valentine's Day Hearts

I have been noticing pretty fabric hearts everywhere...on blogs, on Etsy, and of course, on Pinterest.

Once again, I,  better known as the girl who can't sew,  decided to throw all caution to the wind and make some fabric hearts.

--I used fleece because that's what I had on hand.
--I watched a couple of You Tube tutorials that taught me how to sew a whip stitch & blanket stitch by hand.
--With my own two hands, the girl who can't sew, came up with fleece hearts that I'm pretty happy with.

Wanna see them?

I sewed each little pearl & bugle bead on by hand.  I may have gone cross-eyed in the process, but I did it.  lol

Not necessarily perfect,  but I love them anyway.

Have you made any fun crafts in honor of Valentine's Day?

Thanks for visiting me today. I do appreciate all of your visits & kind comments.

They are really cute! And one would never guess that you "can't sew"! Really, the important thing is that we keep trying to do the things we are not pros at, eh? :)

Those are absolutely adorable, sorry, but I don't think you will be able to claim that you are "the girl who can't sew" any longer. You've proved to yourself that you CAN sew.

I think you don't give yourself enough credit. Those look adorable and perfect to me. Love all the little details with the embellishments too. That's what gives a ordinary project a special, unique touch.

Thank you so much for adding this to my party. I really appreciate your visit and hope you will come again next week!

How pretty, Gina! I'm not a sewer either, but I just may have to give this a try! Love the addition of your hand stitching:)

Gina, they are more than perfect! I love them. They are so beautiful they almost look edible! I think hand sewing is even harder than machine sewing. Oh, so many fun projects, so little time.

Your hearts are just lovely! I like the way you made different patterns and they all look so good together. One of these days, I want to try a few sewing projects.
Yes, I certainly would want them out on display .

Well almost a year later I'm seeing your hearts, so darned cute and so pretty, love the beads and glad you didn't go cross eyed sewing them on.
But come on they look too great to be first time sewing for you. I've been doing the blanket stitch for years but still have a hard time keeping the stitches uniform. Mine end up either getting bigger or smaller. sigh. Your hearts are so pretty I have to try again, thanks for the inspiration.
Now that the holidays are over (2012's) we can turn to other projects. Now if I could just figure out what I did with the "stuff" I had on my shelves in the living room nook before I decorated for Christmas. Why do I do that to myself?
Looks like you made good use of the red and cream/white circles you cut out. Nothing really goes to waste, just have to wait til the right project comes along and you'll be ahead of the game.

Looking at all your incredible Valentine posts (among so many more) on your top notch blog. I had to come back to see again how you made these adorable hearts. I went in right away to find my white/red felt to get going on some tonight. It's pretty cold here yet with enough snow so haven't been out for 2 days. Hope I can make my hearts to look even half as good as yours.
