Cupid's Arrow Tablescape

I wasn't planning to do a tablescape for Valentine's Day because I don't own Valentine's Day dishes.  I know, hard to believe, but true.

Then suddenly, it dawned on me.  Why do I need to have specific Valentine's Day dishes in order to do a Valentine's Day tablescape?  I can pull this off without them!  The challenge was on and here is what I came up with.

I used my Pier 1 red salad plates that I've had for years.  Cream dinner plates from Better Homes & Gardens (Walmart) last year.  Heart boxes from Michaels.  Cloth napkins from Bed, Bath & Beyond...a steal at $1.50 for 4, on clearance.  Gold flatware is "borrowed" from my Mom.  It's called Cellini Romanesque.

My Dee Foust Cupid from last year.  I love this guy!   Gold candleholders purchased quite a few years ago at Michaels.

And there you have my Valentine's Day challenge tablescape.    Big hugs to each of you!

Well, it does not get anymore Valentines than that!!! You did it and it looks great. I will be looking for you peeking through the well manicured bushes tomorrow at the lovely ladies at the dress form ball. Throw your name in the hat for the dress form I'm giving way. then if I make this an annual thing you will be set, cross your fingers that people show up!

I rely on colored plates and holiday accessories for most holidays except for Christmas. It's way more economical that way, plus I'm not wasting space storing dishes for the rest of the year.

Like you, I've been planning to do a red and white table, which I hope to show next week. Yours is really lovely. I really like your cupid and candle holders.

Thank you for sharing this at my "Your Cozy Home Party" this week. I appreciate you dropping by again.

You have certainly proved that you don't need specific valentine dishes to set a festive table! Looks lovely. As for your question about MacKenzie-Child sin Aurora, Yes, that is their only plant, where most of their items are handmade, all of the terra cotta ware (some things come from China). Thanks for stopping by, hope to see you again! patti

Very pretty Gina. When my daughter "borrows" something many times I never see it again! I don't mind though. I so wish there was a Michael's in my town. They seem to have great stuff. Where are you editing your photos? I love the sideways words...how did you do that?

I am intimately acquainted with the concept of "borrowing" from Mom! ;-) I'm so proud of you for going with a romantic table without feeling you just HAD to have heart-shaped this or that. The day is all about romance, and romance comes in many forms! Your final product proves that! Way to go, girlfriend! Hey...here's wishing you and yours the most romantic Valentine's Day ever! Enjoy!!!

I looked all over for heart plates this year because I wanted to use some. I never even thought to use cute little valentine boxes. I love that! I'll remember it.
