Farmer's Market tablescape

Kathleen at Cuisine Kathleen issued a harvest theme challenge for her Let's Dish blog party this week.  It took a little borrowing on my part, but here goes:

I didn't have any fruit or vegetable dishes to play with, so I "phoned a sister."  heehee   My oldest sister just so happened to have some veggie-inspired salad plates to share.   Sisters can be handy that way.

The salad plates are from Williams Sonoma and feature eggplant:

plum tomatoes:

yellow peppers:

and peas:

Black & white checked tablecloth from Kohl's-- See their online selection of tablecloths by clicking here
Placemats & napkins from Pier 1
Green dinner plates from Oneida
Black flatware from Marshall's/Home Goods
Goblets from The Dollar Tree

Now when it came to the centerpiece, I was at a loss. So, I "phoned a Mom"  this time. heehee When I asked if she had any faux veggies, she promptly delivered said basket filled with veggies right to my doorstep.  Moms can be handy that way too. I didn't have to do anything but plop it in the middle of the table!

I guess I'm not the only one who can get credit for this tablescape.  I am so lucky to have my Mom & sisters nearby.  We help each other, we share with each other, and we love being around each other.  What can be better than that?

  15. Let's hear it for mom and sis.... clapping. You can tell mom I focused in on the greens and thought to myself, are those Brussels sprouts? I also thought they were real. I happen to like them with some butter and salt.

  21. Hey, Gina! I'll be it IS great to have your Mom and sister within a stone's throw! My sister lives about 9 hours away in Minnesota. My Mom lives about 25 minutes away in Kansas City, but driving there seems like it takes hours sometimes. I used to (years ago) live in the home directly behind my parents. I miss that. You guys' collaboration rendered a wonderful harvest table! Hooray for you!!!!! Enjoy your weekend!

  22. Your table looks so pretty Gina and so "fall-ish" (is that a word?). How nice that you and your mom and sisters are so close to be able to swap things like that. My step-sister just bought a house in Canada and we're so frustrated that I can't help her!

To answer your question, since we've been in Florida we've been house sitting for my dad and step-mom. They have a place in Toronto where they spend their summers so it gave us a chance to look for own place plus take care of their house while they're gone. We found an apartment, about an hour from my dad's but much closer to my husband's job and are moving in next week:) All my treasures have been in boxes for 4 months now...I miss my stuff!!!

  23. Lucky you to not only have your mom and sister nearby, but also to have the same taste in dishes! Now the real question is, will they get their dishes back? This table looks too pretty to split up all the pieces! Linda
