Valentine's Day Mantel

I can remember the early days.

You bet.

The early days when all my Valentine's Day decor
fit into a flimsy cardboard box from the department store.
The kind of box used for a tie or scarf.

No lie.

It was always my husband's favorite box to take down
from the attic because it required no effort on his part.

No  lie.

Nowadays, my Valentine's Day decor doesn't come close to rivaling
my Christmas or Fall or Easter decor, but it has grown since blogging.

So, I thought a Valentine's Day mantel was in order.
I've never done one of these before, so here goes nothing.

As always, try to ignore the reflection in the mirror,
especially of that darn ceiling fan!

Do I even need to sing the praises of
"fun with PicMonkey?"

I pretty much gathered up all my Valentine's Day decor
and anything pink or red I could find in the house.

Did you notice my Dollar Tree craft above?
The one with the pockets made from paper doilies?
I had to change the frame to something a little more
substantial.  The other frame was just too small for this big mantel.

Although my husband and kids thought I was
over the top
making a Valentine's Day mantel,
I'm glad I didn't listen to them.

Ehh, what do they know anyway?

  30. A serious fear ran through my body when I read your post. Week three and my mantel is still completely empty. It occurred to me it might still be empty when Valentines Day gets here. What's the matter with me? Empty as in there is nothing but dust on it.
